Chaplin / Chaplain

 

 Various companies using this name have been listed as operating from premises in Cross St, Devonport between 1901 and 1953. The premises were eventually swallowed up by the post-war extension of Devonport Dockyard which engulfed large areas of what was Devonport’s commercial centre.

 

 The best known incarnation being Rundle & Chaplin who are listed later in this book.

 

 Recovered bottles from the other companies are very scarce finds
