Early Brewers

The 1844, 1850 & 1852 trade directories list many brewers who do not appear to have been recorded amongst bottle finds at this stage but who might feature in future discoveries;

·        James Edward Clark(e) & Co, brewers operating from premises in Little Durnford St, Stonehouse in 1850 – 1852

·        William Cumming, brewer and wine & spirit merchant operating from Vauxhall St, Plymouth, 1844 – 1852

·        Thomas Edwards is listed in 1852 as a brewer operating from the Regent Brewery, Chapel St, Stonehouse. By 1893 this address had been assumed by the Plymouth Breweries.
