Eden

Another complicated series of companies involves Robert Henry Eden and his premises in Sawrey Street, Plymouth.

The company operated as a ginger beer and soda water manufacturer in 1903 having succeeded Hornsby & Co at the Sawrey St premises (Hornsby themselves operated only in 1901 - 1902) before themselves being succeeded at the premises by the Three Towns Mineral Water Co in 1904.

Robert Henry Eden was previously recorded in the trade directories as a wine and spirit merchant operating from 78 Union St, Plymouth between 1893 and 1902

Eden’s have the distinction of using a green topped ginger beer bottle, in fact all but one type of coloured top ginger beer bottle used in Plymouth came from companies at the Sawrey Street premises. Other bottles from this company are equally as rare as the ginger beer bottle but include codd bottles and glass mineral bottles.
