Matthews

H. Matthews confectioners are included here purely because glass and stoneware jars bearing their name are found along with the other bottles mentioned elsewhere in this book. One of the more commonly encountered Matthews items are elegant pale green glass jars with heavy embossing.

A James Matthews is also listed as a ginger beer manufacturer in George St, Stonehouse in 1852 although it is unclear whether any bottles bearing his details have been recovered.
