Scranton House
The Scranton House Mineral Water Works is
first recorded in around 1913. Operating from premises in Station Road, Plymouth
and later from 43 Union Street
(the former premises of Raymond & Cox), the company issued a variety of bottles
including Codd bottles, internal screw minerals and stoneware ginger beers
(with distinctive leather belt motif in the transfer).
The 43
Union St premises appear to have had numerous
occupants going back to William Lendrum in 1878!
