Starkey, Knight & Ford
A
name synonymous with brewing in the south west, the company had a presence in
the three towns from around 1896 to the 1970s. Many of the area’s older public
houses still have a black horse motif in their windows which was Starkey,
Knight & Ford’s emblem.
Various
glass beer bottles are commonly found bearing the company’s details.
