Starkey, Knight & Ford

A name synonymous with brewing in the south west, the company had a presence in the three towns from around 1896 to the 1970s. Many of the area’s older public houses still have a black horse motif in their windows which was Starkey, Knight & Ford’s emblem.

Various glass beer bottles are commonly found bearing the company’s details.
